Cabbage Night

I know most people call Halloween Eve “Mischief Night” but where I grew up (in Bergen County, NJ) we called it “Cabbage Night.” I haven’t been eating many vegetables lately though, I’m sad to say. Though my recent dinner with Leslie Durso was a perfect Halloween meal – beet risotto. You could probably whip this up in December too, because the flecks of spinach were very Christmas-y.

Last year I tried to be the singer Cat Power as my costume – I was going to put on cat ears, have an electric wire as my tail, and wear a homemade shirt identifying myself. But things didn’t go so well

…so this year, I did a little more careful planning. I still don’t love dressing up for Halloween but I did have a costume-required party to attend. Melanie Maras and I went as our favorite Netflix documentary this year. My entire outfit was from Rent the Runway, and I loved rocking the pieces separately the rest of the week.

Things have been super busy with work – aside from acting in another movie, I’ve been getting ready to film the second half of “I Will Make You Mine.” Here we are location scouting at a funeral home/mortuary, which was pretty appropriate for the season…

…we are looking for voluntary extras next month – if you’re in LA and interested, contact us!
