I haven’t seen my friend Joy Osmanski in almost a year! She was a little busy having two babies. So when I was invited to a hosted lunch in Downtown Los Angeles, we turned the opportunity into a catchup.
This is Pig Pen Delicacy’s new location in Corporation Food Hall, a Downtown Los Angeles food court. They also have spots in Long Beach and Irvine. As their name suggests, there is a heavy emphasis on all things pork. Here’s the Maple Jammin’ Burger with Bacon Jam, Swiss, Garlic Aioli, and Fried Onion Strings. Served with some fries drowning in more piggy goodness.
Oh, and what’s this bun situation happening over here? No biggie, just the Mac Daddy Burger, aka buns made out of Mac n Cheese. It has Candied Bacon, American Cheese, and BBQ Sauce too. Joy went to town on it and proclaimed it better than The Ramen Burger.
Obviously, I couldn’t eat any of this so they were kind enough to make me something gluten-free off the menu. Guess which one is mine?
I love me a lettuce-wrapped burger! Simple and filling.
