18 Hours in San Francisco

A little airport snafu severely delayed Abe’s work trip to San Francisco last weekend.  So I found myself picking him up at Burbank, and hitting the road north!

People gave wonderful food suggestions on social media (I compiled a list at the bottom of this post).  We wound up arriving a little too late, a little too tired to deal with a parking/lines/reservations, so I yelped the nearest vegetarian-friendly place en route to the city and found Hummus Mediterranean Kitchen in San Mateo.

We were both very happy with our food – Abe got a falafel burger with fries…

…I ordered a half portion of their Greek Salad, with grilled chicken on top.

We got an amazing BuzzFeed shoot, I wandered around my overpriced area with Goh and H.P. – we stumbled upon Lori’s Diner…

…and caught up over eggs.  I got an egg white omelet, with spinach/tomatoes.  Fruit instead of potatoes.  Strawberry jelly on my toast.

DSCN8022Two hours later, I wasn’t hungry, but Abe had just wrapped and was starving.  So we stopped by Taqueria Cancun in the Mission for a burrito…

…which, of course, I could not resist several bites of.  Supremely delicious.

Loved the chips n salsa!!!

And then we were back in the car, back to LA.

And I officially miss SF!! Add B*Star, Nopa, Nopalito, Plow, B Patisserie, Souvla, Del Popolo (it’s a rad truck), Boba Guys, Dynamo Donuts, Mr. & Mrs. Miscellaneous, and Humphry Slocombe to the list for next time. I could go on but then you’d have to move there!
