Artist Date: The Getty Villa

Monday morning melon, followed by a museum field trip!

It’s funny I’ve never blogged about The Getty Museum or The Getty Villa (this is the latter), because when we first moved to Los Angeles I visited several times.

As you can see, truly a must-do.

I prefer all the outdoor spaces/gardens to the indoor art…

…although this particular piece spoke to me.

Both museums are free, but you have to make an appointment for The Villa. Parking is $15.

Abe and I swung by Rita’s in Santa Monica afterwards for water ice

…not as great a view, but we were pretty happy.

This was a Pumpkin Cheesecake with Light Custard…

…apparently, they now have Philly Soft Pretzels, but were sold out. I made do with two small bowls of TJ’s Honey Wheat back at home.

When I have the dark and rainy days, going thru your sunny photos of cali make me happy.
I know that sounds lame, but I miss that abundant sunshine and warmth.
I vaguely remember the Getty, been so long….

Lovely photos of the Getty Villa! Thanks for visiting Rita’s and for (virtually) sharing your Pumpkin Cheesecake Gelati!
