Ojai Valley Inn and Spa

Oh, take me back to Ojai!!!  Here’s the magical place we stayed – The Ojai Valley Inn and Spa.  Situated on a golf course…

…with majestic grounds and many pools.  My tip – go to the spa one if you want shade/quiet!

I didn’t actually utilize any of the spa services or classes…

I ordered an Egg White Omelet with Kale/Shrooms/Tomatoes, while Abe got the Granola and Yogurt Breakfast.

If you’ve been to Ojai, what are your favorite places to stay?  We plan on coming back in November; loved this hotel, obviously, but it’s a bit $$$.

Renola

Actually, it’s grain-free, so they’re calling it “Renola.”  Which makes me sing the Ricola song in my head every time I open a sample…probably not their intention.

I prefer more clumps, personally – but who knows if that’s even possible with a vegan granola…

…ordinarily this plum would’ve gone on top, but I’m too lazy to cut it.  So now it’s a yogurt chaser.

What’s New Pussycat

I’ll tell you what’s new – Chinatown Scoops! My favorite gelato place has opened right next to Chego. They’re slightly less generous than the original, but it’s the same sweet stuff.

My hair’s no longer a virgin! I finally stopped plucking the grays (okay, Abe stopped) and got it dyed for free at an Aloxxi Color Workshop.

After Wednesday’s post, my twinsie Emily dropped off some flowers + homemade granola to cheer me up…

…a mashup of two recipes – using fewer nuts, 2 TB coconut oil, 1/3 cup Grade B Maple Syrup, and her own mix-ins of dried blueberries, coconut flakes, pumpkin seeds and almonds. Did the trick – food is love.

Courtney asked me if I’m still eating cantaloupe/miso/candy daily. The answer is yes, but I’m now addicted to nuts as well – either a handful of raw almonds/cashews/pecans or spoonful of natural almond butter (<—you must try this trick).
