I haven’t been back to Van Saun Park since I was 10…

I’m kinda obsessed with NJ Italian Food since we finished The Sopranos last year, so I was pumped for takeout from In Napoli (<—check out who’s eaten there)…

…takeout for my nieces and nephews, but everything was still great, straight outa foil containers – Chicken Fingers…

Slow Cooker Sweet Potatoes

crockpot recipe - recipe - sandwich - trader joe's - vegetarian

I usually bake my sweet potatoes in large batches, but in the summertime, I choose to ignore the oven.

I wouldn’t really call this a crockpot “recipe” (<—click for past blog posts) but I’m definitely using this method to make sweet potatoes from now on.

Puzzles and Pretzels

bakeries/cafes/dessert places

Remember when magician David Kwong blew my mind at a dinner hosted by Susan Orlean last year?  He’s on the front page of TED today – and you can watch some of his genius in this talk.

No crossword for me today (who am I kidding, any day) but maybe one of you can figure out why I went to Go Get Em Tiger twice…

…it wasn’t because of the scary fire nearby – I had to leave once for a Handybook cleaning, then again to meet up with Joy.  She needed to experience that famous iced latte.

We stopped by the Larchmont Farmers Market for one of Rockenwagner’s famous pretzel rolls

…that, obviously, isn’t it – but can anyone solve the mystery of why the Ciabatta above has a weird filter on it, and the brioche below doesn’t?
