“The Actor’s Diet” started out on Blogger, in June of 2009. Back then it was a joint project between me and my good friend, fellow actress and holistic health counselor Christy Meyers – we got the idea from an episode we recorded of the now-defunct podcast Actors Off. After a year, I took over full time. I now post about virtually every single thing that I eat, usually twice a day.
Here are some compilation posts to give new readers a sense of the blog:
“The Actor’s Diet” has a lot of restaurants and products, discussions about body image/eating disorders, and many simple/thrown together microwavable meals. I am not a cook, baker, food writer, nutritionist, eating disorders specialist – I don’t have the most refined palate or the vocabulary to be a reviewer. I don’t get tied into controversies in the food world, though I try to be as conscious as possible. I don’t take the greatest photos.
What you WILL find is someone who is passionate about eating, and exploring the relationships we have with food. That, combined with pictures of my dog, husband/family/friends, L.A. area interests, travels, movies/TV shows, fashion/beauty choices, giveaways, and other random things are what you’ll see on this blog.
It’s my life, meal by meal.
