What is “The Actor’s Diet?”
This blog started in 2009 as a project between me and Christy Meyers. Over the years, it has evolved from a daily food journal into what it is today – everything from LA restaurant reviews/places of interest, to travel and fashion and beauty tips – sprinkled in with random recipes, pictures of my dog, and life on set. If you’re curious, just search the archives using the drop-down option in the sidebar – I apologize in advance for any ugliness that may appear.
Are you on a diet?
I used to be on just about every diet under the sun. For many years, this blog helped me come to terms with my eating disorders – now it is a place to show the ongoing balance/celebration of food. I’m currently an Ambassador for The National Eating Disorders Association and have also worked with The National Organization of Women – to read more about my recovery, check out my guest post at BlogHer and the speech I gave at the 2011 NEDA Conference. I also co-founded the body image blog Thick Dumpling Skin, which was featured in Marie Claire Magazine. But to answer the question – usually, I am not on a diet. When I am working, depending on the project, sometimes.
How do you eat so much and stay so skinny?
I eat a lot of melons.
What else do you do?
I act. I sing. I watch an obscene amount of movies and television. I narrate books. I write stories. I write food articles. I host a podcast. I make random videos. I play video games. Oh, and sometimes I actually cook!
