What’s New Pussycat

It’s been a while since I’ve done an update about what I’m up to on the blog. Most of this stuff I just share on social media or my weekly newsletter but I kinda miss doing these.

I’ve been hanging out a lot with Hilah Johnson lately. The other day I made her go karaoking with me in the middle of a weekday. Just the two of us. Max Karaoke has a $5/person Happy Hour and let me tell you, there is no greater joy than getting to hog the mic for half an hour straight. She was also my date for an Avocado Walking Tour we went on recently. I learned you can actually use the stem/pit when cooking. Who knew?

May is Mental Health Month, and I’ve been trying to raise awareness to help battle the stigma. My friend Elizabeth at Link of Hearts designed this beautiful elephant necklace which I’ve been wearing almost every day since I got it. And Dawn McCoy emceed a luncheon for NAMI and Philosophy that included speeches by Zelda Williams and Lily Luo that made me tear up over my quinoa.

This weekend I hosted a birthday party for Leslie Durso where there were plenty of decadent vegan options via pizza (Fresh Brothers) and cupcakes (Erin McKenna’s Bakery).

I’ve been staying pretty quiet politically online but I am still an activist in my every day life. My friend Cate Park (along with Chloe Bennet and Brad Jenkins) have started RUN (Represent Us Now) – which is still in its infancy stages, but I’m hoping I’ll have more to share with those of you who are Asian-American and want to get involved.
