This meal is hosted.
I’ve been super into my health lately. Ever since finding out I have a gluten-sensitivity (which I’m suspecting may also be a sugar one 😬😬😬) I’ve been really careful about what’s going into my body. The other day I woke up with a sore throat but taking time off isn’t really an option. So I began gargling with salt water, eating raw garlic (boy did I smell), upping my Vitamin C, and drinking Apple Cider Vinegar. It seems to have done the trick! Magic!
It’s times like this that I turn to what Los Angeles does really well – superfoods with healing components. I first visited Lifehouse Tonics with my childhood buddy Andromeda Dunker when it was raining nonstop. We hung out and tasted a couple of their Blended Tonics. Mine was a Shroom Shake – you can’t taste the mushrooms because of the coffee, cacao, and almond/cashew milks. But I was really blown away by the Greenhouse Chip, which contains barley and wheatgrass but tastes like a Mint Chocolate Chip Milkshake.
To nosh on – a vegan, raw, and gluten-free brownie. Rich and yummy.
When you’re sick, go in for a Wellness Shot – gotta support that body! If you’ve been reading this blog for a while, you know I never use the word “healthy” to describe food. But this place is pretty healthy, and sometimes you really need it.
