FrankieLucy Bakeshop

This is a hosted meal.

The folks behind Creme Caramel and Found Coffee have joined forces to form FrankieLucy Bakeshop – an adorable custard and coffee heaven in Silver Lake.  Michelle Krusiec recently texted me, raving about their vegan horchata.  I stopped by and they hooked me up with a bunch of sweets.  FYI they also have savories, in the form of quiches, tortillas, sandwiches, salads, and strata.

The signature creamy custards come in a bunch of flavors – from Ube to Pandan Chia Seed Pudding (which is also vegan and naturally sweetened).  I serve them for dessert at a dinner party, and they are a big hit.  Sophisticated yet fun, y’all.

Did I mention they’re gluten-free too?  I could totally partake!  So was this Unicorn Poop – a meringue dotted with rainbow sprinkles.

The only thing I didn’t get to sample was this S’mores Bar, which everyone else devoured and enjoyed.  Look at that marshmallow to bar ratio!

FrankieLucy is located at 3116 1/2 West Sunset Boulevard, right next door to the recently closed (waaaaah) Knuckle and Claw.  There is a small parking lot to the side.  Check out their website for hours and more info!

Is FrankieLucy Bakeshop owned by Filipinos? Ube and pandan are widely used in desserts. And ube is a filipino word for purple yam.
