The Goodland Hotel – Santa Barbara

We just got back from a quick weekend getaway in Santa Barbara!  Abe and I are celebrating our 20th Anniversary (of being together, not of marriage) and wanted to bring Julius with us.  My friend, travel expert Krista Simmons, recommended The Goodland Hotel in Goleta.

We kept calling it “The Good Place” (after our favorite new NBC show).  It certainly did feel like a version of hipster heaven, with record players in every room.  We even brought our own tunes, though there is a library in the lobby.

Right before sunset we enjoyed a complimentary social hour by the pool.  There were also cookies, chocolate-covered strawberries, and a bottle of Prosecco waiting in our room as an anniversary gift!

We did not get a chance to eat at the hotel’s Outpost Restaurant but it certainly looks beautiful, doesn’t it?

P.S. The beds are great, but the shower needs work.

P.P.S. I was able to book a AAA rate – and Kimpton Karma members get $10 off the mini bar.  Plus, dogs of any size stay for free!

Don’t worry – it’s clean (with wonderful bath products) but the water pressure is not good!
