BlogHer Conference

My experience speaking at the BlogHer Conference in 2016.

I’ve been blogging for seven years now, but this is my first BlogHer Conference.  So great to have it in my own city, with friends!  Day 1 starts off with Vegan Banana Protein Pancakes at a breakfast party that Leslie Durso hosts, with Vega Protein.

You can get that yummy recipe on their site – I score a big container of protein powder, but wind up passing it along as a gift to my other favorite vegan, Jasmin Singer.   She is also at the conference speaking.

The DIY Vlogging Panel I lead with Jess Sanfilippo (aka Shuggilippo) goes great – thanks to everyone for packing the room and being so engaged!  Jess and I actually met at a vegan donut event back in March.  It’s such a small world.

Jenny Yang is also speaking at the conference – unfortunately, at the same time as me. We get to hang out a little afterwards, though.  I just got booked for the Comedy Comedy Festival she is organizing later this month.  Stay tuned for that…

…another funny lady I get to meet is Aisha Tyler! She is the Emcee the Voices Of the Year Awards, where my Cupcake ATM Video is getting honored.  The conference is a bit crazy (hello, Kim Kardashian is there) but I manage to take my new camera out for a quick vlog to capture the memories.

You and Jess were wonderful! Lots of great tips and I loved hearing about the “oh dear” moments. Loved that you took so many questions. The other session leaders only took a few, but you really gave out the info we wanted to hear.
    Thank you!

Yay! I’m so happy you got so much out of it, Melinda. Thank you!

Amazing post (and vid). Can’t believe that I missed Sarah Michelle Geller (such a Buffy nerd).
Thanks for coming to our breakfast. Wish that I could have chatted with you in person 🙂
