There are now EIGHT places to get coffee on Larchmont – in fact, there were nine but one just closed. Funny thing is, each place/space is unique. Pretty much every one serves food, but I have to say the food at Groundwork Coffee probably suits my vibe the most. I don’t always want a server like you get at Le Pain Quotidien, and I don’t always want something too heavy or large, like you get at Larchmont Bungalow, or Go Get Em Tiger.
Melanie actually introduced me to their breakfast burrito – and it was so good I brought Abe back to experience it the same weekend. The Groundwork team was kind enough to invite us back to explore more of the menu for lunch.
They make great coffee, duh, but also my favorite iced herbal tea – Hibiscus, which is unsweetened but full of flavor.
We ordered a bunch of meat-free items to share – poached organic eggs on avocado with toast…
…a vegetarian sandwich with more avocado and the most delicious house-made chipotle aioli…
…and a Mediterranean Salad with big chunks of feta cheese.
We actually moved our picnic outside because lo-and-behold Melanie wandered in (she’s a true regular) and had her dog with her. I feel like every time I’m here I’m either running into people or meeting new friends. It’s a very welcome addition to the neighborhood.
