This meal is hosted.
Atticus Coffee and Dessert recently opened their second location on 3rd Street, right by The Grove.
Anna Gilbert Zupon and I stop in for a tasting in their beautiful space.
The first thing you notice: PIES. From Lemon Lavender to Blueberry Cheesecake to Peanut Butter Chocolate!
Also on the menu – coffee, toast…
…and homemade ice cream.
We sample every single flavor. I love them all but have to give my own extra heart to the Salted Chocolate Pretzel. Honey Honeycomb, Peanut Butter Banana Chocolate, and Milk and Cereal flavors are pretty great as well.
Anna points out that the sorbets aren’t icy at all – just smooth and creamy.
Next up – the pies.
They’re mini, but not too small. I’d say they are about the size of your palm.
All of them start with a buttery crust and are filled with either a cheesecake, or a mousse flavor.
We have sample bites – I am pretty taken with the Earl Grey…
…but wind up bringing The Salted Caramel one home for Abe to try. He likes it a lot, but isn’t too crazy about their coffee, because it’s sweet. Anna enjoys it, though!
I’ll definitely be back for more scoops like this.
