I pick iPic Theaters for a luxurious dinner and movie date night.
Abe and I pretty much go out to dinner/movie every week. iPic Theaters – a luxury theater that has both – has offered to host us for a date. I’m cancelling my Sunday plans! Especially since Chef Sherry Yard (the woman responsible for the best apple pie I’ve ever eaten) is now working on their menu!
We went to one in Westwood, connected to Tanzy. They have locations all over the country – from Texas to Florida.
Past the concession stand on steroids…
…and lounge area…
…is Movie Theater Heaven.
For about the price of a standard movie ticket you can sit in one of the Premium Seats up front…
…but why would you do that, when for $10 more, you get a seat that reclines AND a pillow AND a blanket!
AND you also get table-side service! Here’s their beer selection, which Abe thoroughly enjoyed.
It’s a shame I couldn’t really snap photos of our food, because the presentation was quite lovely. We got a bunch of vegetarian appetizers to share – Tempura Fried String Beans (<—I order you to order these), Pretzel Sticks, Potato Knishes in Puff Pastry, Crudite with Guacamole, and a Toffee Coffee Chocolate Chip Cookie, served warm. Whenever you need things to be cleared/order more food, just press a button.
It’s true what they say about eating in the dark – I wasn’t even that hungry going in, and I still finished EVERYTHING. Bonus – there was a Q&A with Shira Piven, the director of the movie we saw (Welcome to Me) afterwards!
I view this the same way I view getting a massage…definitely not an every day thing…but maybe at least once a month, to remind me I’m special? They’ve got a membership club to make that easy.
