Abe and I used to eat at Susan Feniger’s Street pretty regularly; the restaurant morphed into a new place, Mud Hen Tavern, more than a year ago…
…this was our first time checking it out – an early birthday dinner for Abe (we actually celebrated in the same space 2 years ago).
You’ll notice TV’s everywhere – making this a good place for a non-sports-fan like myself to watch a game. However, I was cold (despite heat lamps), the back of my bench kept vibrating, and the table was oddly low.
The food was good, but a little overpriced. This salmon salad was almost $20 and not nearly as exciting (or large) as some other places that have a more cozy ambiance.
These crispy potatoes were a winner….
…filling, too – because there was plenty of this vegetarian sandwich leftover the next day.
All in all, we were underwhelmed by our experience here – but the service was top-notch. I’ll definitely give Mud Hen another shot – after all, Street didn’t win us over at first, either.
