Blue Plate Oysterette

dessert - dinner - restaurant - salads

Blue Plate Oysterette has been on my radar for a while now – they are well-known in Santa Monica, and recently opened closer to my side of town, on 3rd Street.

I left the vegetarian at home and brought Christy

…we went to celebrate her birthday!

She ordered the Red Trout – similar to salmon – with a side of seriously mind-blowing coconut brown rice…

…and perfectly-cooked baby zucchini.

I really dug my dish as well – a Shrimp Cobb – with beets, eggs, avocado, tomatoes, and dill dressing.  I left off the bacon/blue cheese and it was plenty flavorful.

For dessert they brought out a Coconut Sorbet with Strawberries, Mint Syrup, and a candle!

We had a great time – it just got CRAZY LOUD inside, similar to my visit at Connie and Ted’s.  There’s an outdoor patio; next time I’ll have to request to eat there.  I’m not sure what’s up with these LA Seafood Restaurants and their poor indoor acoustics…but I’ll be back!

Good to know about indoor/outdoor seating, I’ve made the mistake of sitting inside at Connie & Ted’s once – NEVER again!
