Blue Apron Meals

I’ve heard a lot about Blue Apron Meals. Joy is a big fan, and was kind enough to gift me with a box.

Three vegetarian-friendly meals arrived, packed on ice…

…complete with step-by-step instructions.

While the ingredients are all measured out, you still have to clean/prep them…

…which does wind up taking a bit of time…

…but I love that I don’t have to figure out what to do with all my leftover herbs/spices.

Packaging-wise, there’s a lot of plastic…

…but the results are quite good, and stunning too! This is the Fresh Beet Pasta, and above is the Louisiana-Style Red Lentils.

Still have yet to make the last dish. Overall, the results are great and I love the concept – I just wish there was a way to customize dietary preferences/order just one meal a week, rather than the required 3 – for a food blogger who eats out almost every meal, finding time to stay home/cook is challenging. My friend Emily recently did a very thorough, detailed review which included Blue Apron Meals’ meat options – she has a link for 2 free dinners on her site, as well.
