What’s New Pussycat

I’ll tell you what’s new – Chinatown Scoops! My favorite gelato place has opened right next to Chego. They’re slightly less generous than the original, but it’s the same sweet stuff.


My hair’s no longer a virgin! I finally stopped plucking the grays (okay, Abe stopped) and got it dyed for free at an Aloxxi Color Workshop.


After Wednesday’s post, my twinsie Emily dropped off some flowers + homemade granola to cheer me up…


…a mashup of two recipes – using fewer nuts, 2 TB coconut oil, 1/3 cup Grade B Maple Syrup, and her own mix-ins of dried blueberries, coconut flakes, pumpkin seeds and almonds. Did the trick – food is love.


Courtney asked me if I’m still eating cantaloupe/miso/candy daily. The answer is yes, but I’m now addicted to nuts as well – either a handful of raw almonds/cashews/pecans or spoonful of natural almond butter (<—you must try this trick).


P.S. Salad dressing on pizza instead of tomato sauce = Do it.

    I love raw, unsalted almond butter as a quick, filling snack! Also, if you haven’t already, I highly suggest raw almond butter on a medjool date. So good!

    Palo Alto is on my list! I’m intrigued that these young Hollywood heirs have started creating their own work.

    Raw, unsalted almond butter on a spoon happens for me [at least] once a day. It’s so satisfying.

    And you’re right– food definitely IS love.
