Podcast 1 – Paul Gilmartin (Mental Illness Happy Hour)

My first podcast interview with comedian Paul Gilmartin, host of The Mental Illness Happy Hour.

I’ve started a podcast!  I’m pretty excited, because The Actor’s Diet actually began as a show back in the day.  It’s a delight to return to my roots and share discussions with some of my favorite people.  Some will be old friends, and some I’ll be getting to know better solely through interviews.  Like Paul Gilmartin, who is my very first guest.  He’s a seasoned podcaster himself, hosting The Mental Illness Happy Hour, which is how we met.

podcast, interview

Much like this blog, this podcast will have everything to do with actors and food.  And sometimes it will have NOTHING to do with it.  I’m still figuring it out, but I’d love your support.  Check it out on iTunes and help the show find an audience by rating it/writing a review!

If you follow me on social media, I’ll be announcing ways for you to try out free stuff/attend food events and possibly appear on the show – I would also love to hear from you!

Congrats on starting a podcast! What recording software are you using and what equipment do you have? I’ve been considering starting a podcast as well.

Hey Allison – I’m using a very old skool Blue Mic that I’ve had for years, on my Garageband. And that’s it! Very barebones. Good luck with starting your’s!

At first I was so psyched to hear about your NYC event but then I realized that I’ll be out of the city this weekend. So sad to miss out on it… please plan more on the East Coast. I’ve been reading this blog and Thick Dumpling Skin for a while now and I’m looking forward to the podcast! Congrats.

Congrats on starting a podcast! I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this to you before, but I’m the production coordinator for the Inside Acting Podcast, so I’m a huge podcast person.

I’ve already subscribed to yours and will be listening to it on my drive to work tomorrow!

I enjoyed the podcast a lot! The icon of you smiling with an orange (?) in your mouth was terrifying at first, then very amusing. 🙂

    Congrats Lynn!

Like the idea of your podcast. Looking forward to more episodes. I liked Paul’s stories of working as a pizza chef (something I didn’t know he had done). I also was excited to check out pretzel dogs after your friend’s review.

    Good luck!

Yay Lynn!! I listen to podcasts on my commute to and from work, as well as when I run errands, and I’ve been running out of podcasts to listen to. I’m seriously psyched to listen to yours- I’ve just added it to my favorites playlist on stitcher. I wish I was running errands right now but it’s torrentially down-pouring here in Philly.
