This afternoon I was treated to lunch at Tortilla Republic!

Located on Robertson in West Hollywood (they also have one in Kauai) this is Modern Mexican Cuisine with a focus on local, organic ingredients.

Alexia and I opted to sit outside on the covered patio – it’s a beautiful Friday!

Started off with a few handfuls of chips, three salsas (my favorite was the Pineapple Habenero)…

…and guacamole with serrano pepper, tomato, onion, cilantro and lime.

The main dishes sounded delicious…

…but I was in a salad mood. We shared the Ensalada Sabrosa – romaine lettuce, roasted corn, tomatoes, black beans, jack cheese, jicama, cilantro, red onion, avocado, and a honey jalapeño vinaigrette…

…with melon, jicama, tomato, roasted almonds, queso fresco, and kiwi vinaigrette.

Saved room for dessert – we split the Chocolate Decadence…

…a flourless chocolate cake with ancho chile, cayenne pepper, vanilla bean ice cream, and chocolate cookie crumbles…

…plus a slice of Key Lime Pie.

I left very full and very happy. FYI there’s a Tequila Tasting here tomorrow afternoon with a special 4 course tasting menu!
