L.A. Rose Cafe

in bakeries/cafes/dessert places, breakfast, dessert

I wasn’t sure what to expect with L.A. Rose Cafe, but heard really good things about it on Yelp. This morning I met up with the lovely Joy

…and together, we explored this Los Angeles gem!

The menu is mostly Filipino, but they also have things like Spanakopita, Rib Eye Steak, and a regular “American” Breakfast, which Joy ordered.

I got a quarter slice of their “Food for the Gods” – I thought it might be like a Larabar since it’s made of dates/walnuts…

…but it was a lot more like a cookie!

Not to sweet, either – perfect with the berries and caramel sauce.

Traded bites for Joy’s fluffy pancake…

…she wound up taking an entire one to go.

I can’t wait to come back here and explore some more savory Filipino foods – especially so I can slather it in Amelia’s TLC sauce…

…plus I’m very curious to hear the piano guy!

Gonna eat some melon before a Skype meeting for my upcoming Nice Girls Crew class at Stanford – it’s free to the public (not just students) and will be broadcast live via web stream!
