Bludso’s Bar & Que

After my massage Sunday morning, I ate half a giant honeydew, then gathered some meat-eating friends for dinner at Bludso’s Bar & Que.

Housed in the old Tar Pit space on La Brea, this is the two-month-old collaboration between the owners of The Golden State (which I still can’t believe I’ve never been to) and the original Bludso’s in Compton.

They don’t take reservations, so we showed up at 4pm and had our pick of tables.

For our group of 5 carnivores (plus Abe) we got “The Tray” – basically everything on the menu.

Sides included Cornbread, Mac N Cheese, Pickles, Coleslaw, Potato Salad…

…and Collard Greens/Baked Beans – neither of which are vegetarian, FYI.

This place is on my list! I always love a good BBQ. :)

So what did the veggie eat? Cornbread, Mac n cheese, slaw n potato salad? What did he think?

Yes – everything except for the greens/beans. We all liked the sides a lot, actually!

My friends brought back some meat left on the tray. Next time we won’t order as much!
