Getting my meat on at Bludso’s BBQ on La Brea in Los Angeles.
Today I’m gathering some meat-eating friends for dinner at Bludso’s BBQ. Or, Bar & Que, as they call it.
Housed in the old Tar Pit space on La Brea, this is the two-month-old collaboration between the owners of The Golden State and the original Bludso’s BBQ in Compton.
They don’t take reservations, so we showed up at 4pm and had our pick of tables.
For our group of 5 carnivores (plus Abe) we got “The Tray” – basically everything on the menu.
Sides included Cornbread, Mac N Cheese, Pickles, Coleslaw, Potato Salad…
…and Collard Greens/Baked Beans – neither of which are vegetarian, FYI.
So excited to dive in!

As you can see, we did not finish our tray…
…but we did save room for dessert!
