Casa Vega is a Valley Institution – everyone from Marlon Brando to Jennifer Aniston (to Heidi Montag/Spencer Pratt) goes here.

Wednesday was my first time – and I instantly fell in love.

Rachelle and I were invited for dinner – she’s actually a regular, and was impressed with their Skinny Margaritas, currently $5 through April 28th!

Started off with a few handfuls of perfectly salted chips and salsa while we looked over their ginormous menu.

Our wonderful waiter suggested the Supreme Vega Combo – Taquitos galore, including Black Bean/Beef/Chicken/Veggie…

…and Cheeeeeeese Quesadillas.

I nibbled on these two plates…

…and we shared a crazy good Tortilla Soup – filled with fresh veggies, chicken chunks, and avocado.

For the main entrees, a Burrito off their Vegetarian and Vegan Menu…

…filled with Vegetables, Monterey Jack Cheese, Black Beans, Spanish Rice, and Tomatoes – topped with Salsa, more cheese, and Sour Cream.

We also ordered the Lobster Enchiladas…

…Corn Tortillas, Maine Lobster, Salsa Verde, Guacamole, Sour Cream, Spanish Rice, and Refried Beans.

I had a taste of everything…

…and saved the rest so we could enjoy ALL of our dessert!

A classic Mexican Flan…

…and Vanilla Ice Cream rolled in Honey, Corn Flakes, Sugar, Cinnamon – then lightly fried.

Casa Vega is my new go-to spot for a sit-down Mexican dinner – the ambiance, food, and friendly service left me feeling warm, cozy, and happy.  I can see why it’s been such a hit for over 55 years!

Been going to CV since the 80′s! It is so delish!!!! Has not changed much through the years and is the late night munchies place! The only comparison is El Coyote.

Might have been the best chicken tortilla soup I’ve ever had! HELLO, AVOCADOS!

LOVE Casa Vega! I’ve only been once but I’ve been dying to go back ever since. I actually tried to go with a group of people last Friday night but the wait for a table was over an hour!

Do they actually have a vegan menu now? I don’t see it online, but that would be awesome news!

Yes – it isn’t online!

Casa Vega is the first place I ate dinner in LA. I adore it. Few things merit a drive to the valley for me but it is my fave Mexican food spot.
