End of the Rainbow

in salads, theatre

Another full day in Downtown LA…

…not to the Festival of Books this time – I headed over to The Ahmanson to see End of the Rainbow. As you can see, I got there pretty early – overestimated CicLAvia traffic!

We met up with Aunt Heidi + Uncle Robert for a meal beforehand, at Kendall’s Brasserie.

FYI – they don’t serve “brunch” (even on weekends) – just “lunch.”

Really delicious bread for the table – I had one piece…

…we all got salads!

The Brasserie Vegetable for both me and Abe – beets, leeks, lentils, tomato, chopped eggs…

…and asparagus! I used about 1/2 the Ravigote Vinaigrette.

For dessert, a few bites of the Warm Chocolate Fondant… DSCN0313

….with espresso sauce, berries, and pistachio ice cream.

The show was incredible – seriously, the best theatre experience I’ve had in years. Too bad it’s the last one!

Can you ever really over estimate LA traffic? ;)

Was just remarking that the two best days of traffic were during “Carmageddon.”

I just have to comment on the epic size of that asparagus. I’m impressed and jealous – it’s one of my favorite veggies!
