El Morfi

April 17, 2013

in lunch, restaurant, salads, vegetarian

After my morning melon + errands, I drove over to Glendale for lunch at El Morfi.

This place reminds me of my regular haunts back in Astoria!

Ordered the Empanada Lunch special – Salad + 2 Traditional Argentinian pies – you can choose from 7 different varieties…

…I went with Spinach and Corn.

Traded bites with my lunch date, Liz

…her Italian Chopped Salad had tomato, salami, garbanzo beans, and mozzarella.

All the food was great – including their complimentary bread with Chimichurri Sauce.

We really need to go explore a new restaurant! :) I love GREEK or Spanish or Japanese! I have never even eaten anywhere in Glendale before – Ha!

It’s a really down-to-earth area – I love it!

Awesome! I’m a reader from Argentina and was so happy to see you trying this type of cuisine. The place looks like a copycat of typical eateries here, down to the waiter’s outfits.
Morfi is slang for food.

It totally has that Astoria vibe – agreed.
I’m working my way – very slowly – through the restaurants there. I’ve been more tempted by the fish markets, Greek groceries and vegetable markets so far!
