After Breaking Bad in Albuquerque, we made it to Santa Fe just as the sun was setting.

Cafe Pasqual’s came personally recommended to me by Michael Stern – he is literally one of my Road Food gurus so I knew we were diving into the best.

No dinner reservations; we sat at the cozy communal table in the middle of the small room. Got to know our neighbors – Myron (who sells antique maps) even shared a bite of his lamb dish with me.

Everything else was vegetarian and evenly split, starting with these crunchy sesame breads.

I devoured two, so I skipped the one that came with our appetizer – Parsley, Barley and Cashew Salad with Lemon Vinaigrette and Feta.

For the main entree, we got the Plato Supremo – vegetarianized with Tofu.

Chil Relleno (our favorite), Mole Enchilada, Tamale, and Cilantro Rice.

Too stuffed for their beautiful-looking desserts…

…we actually had a lot of sweets waiting back at our hotel! A little welcome gift of chocolate-covered strawberries, gummy candies, and granola bars…

…crispy turn-down service cookies…

…and a surprise from room service! David and Wendy sent us an Anniversary Fruit Basket.

I fixed us two little plates…

…which we enjoyed around midnight, in bed.

Speaking of our insane magical TV

…I woke up just in time to catch Lauren’s blondies featured on The Today Show as “The Best on the East Coast” – still can’t believe she taught me how to make those in my Mom’s Kitchen!

We spent the morning gallery hopping (pix on my Instagram) – I ate the granola bar + pear from last night…

…and am now kicking Abe out of the hotel for an in-room massage – he’s going back to Pasqual’s for lunch!

  • Abbe@This is How I Cook

Love Pasqual’s and have their cook book. But you must go for breakfast! Or hit the Tecolote for a breakfast burrito and a cinnamon roll. I LOVE Santa Fe.
