Chip on My Finger

in beauty, dessert, sandwich

I received part 2 of my birthday present from Christy yesterday afternoon – she’s a Mommy now so finding time took a few months!

We checked out Polish Couture on Melrose – these massage chairs are SERIOUS.

AAAARGH – just minutes after I left the salon! One day I’ll finally get a gel manicure…

…because I’m convinced having flawless fingers makes sandwiches taste better! An early dinner – Bagel Thin Sandwich from Noah’s – their Tuscan Chicken Pesto, which also comes with cheese/tomato.

It was awesome, of course. Essie should team up with Kirby to make a polish line named after her delicious creations.

Your hubs is lucky you share, that dessert looks SOO good! And I agree, the second I step away from the salon, I wreck a nail (it’s a condition!).

That lighter color looks great on you and I like that even being purple, it could still be considered a neutral shade.

And that cake looks INSANE. :-)

I no longer wear nail polish because I’m so rough with my hands. The nails always chip! But that shade looks so pretty on you! What a great color for spring. And then that sandwich….so yummy! Thank you for sharing all of this (and what a sweet ending with that cake!) xoxo

Love the color. I had a gel manicure at Christmas time and loved it at first, but it ruined my nails! Think twice before you go that route!

That’s strange. I did gels for about 1.5 yrs consecutively, and when I stopped my nails were actually the healthiest they’d ever been. I was finally able to grown mine out. Maybe it depends on what type you use? I used to get CalGel.

You may be right, Stephanie. I’m not sure what type/brand I had. I just know that my nails are weak and fragile after just one gel manicure. No fun!

Your sandwich looks delicious! You live a good life, Lynn! :) So lucky! I also love your nail color choice and gel manicures are awesome, too! The thing about gel manicures is the removal and the removal part of it is what makes the whole thing so damaging.

I find it so strange people are talking about damage from gels! Maybe I just got lucky? I guess I’d say if you try it, to go to the experts – Marie Nails! I never had damage from removal, or even removing them myself (which you’re not supposed to do). I had pretty terrible nails when I did acrylics, but after switching to gel, my nails became much stronger and longer on their own. I guess I’ll attribute this to the brand and nail salon ;)

Gel nails are the BEST if you get them done by a good tech. Just like that Kirbycake is the BEST! This post is a win for me; two of my favorite topics!
