This was the first Oscars in years that we didn’t have a party, or watch with others. Had a few inspired ideas – from “Life of Pi” (this Indian Samosa Casserole) to “Beasts of the Southern Wild” (Hushpuppy Chili) – but in the end, I just wanted a quiet night at home and let Abe do the cooking.

The pizza dough was from Trader Joe’s…

…as was the vegan mozzarella that topped it.

Topped with Farmer’s Market Brussels…

…cooked under the tutelage of Mark Bittman’s iPhone App.

Drizzle of Balsamic Glaze; 10 minutes at 450 degrees.

Yummers. Eaten when the show started…

…miso + more grapes by the end.
