I wanted to visit Hsi Lai Temple this morning but knew it’d probably be crazy because of Chinese New Year. So instead, we’re having a regular old Sunday…hit the Larchmont Farmers Market and filled up on a ton of samples…

…then walked home and dusted off the old waffle maker.

(None for Julius or me.)

Used Trader Joe’s Buttermilk Pancake Mix, cutting the recipe in half and using Chai Tea instead of water…

…batter in the Blendtec!

Made one big batch for hubby…

…and another to freeze for when my stomach has room.

Looks good, huh?

Abe said it was delicious!

Curious how often those of you who also have waffle makers use yours…I’ve had this one less than a year and it’s only my second batch!

Nice idea and I bettheytasted good. I do gingerbread waffles and leige waffles. Both are good and simple. I’ve also made cheese quesadillas in a waffle maker and I just tried hash browns but wasn’t as pleased with that result.
I go through phases of using my iron. Usually I’m not making actual waffles though! I like to make eggs in the iron, or waffle French toast or sandwiches.
hahaha that photo of J licking his chops is PRiCELESS!
My mom has one, and we used it ONCE when my family came to visit. This is in at least 5 years. (ouch!)
I probably use mine every couple of months. Though I’ve not used it since my surgery in November. Time to get it out!!
Mine is very old…around 80+ years and makes wonderful waffles. Kind of looks like this, http://img0007.popscreencdn.com/107187248_antique-art-deco-manning-bowman-1601-waffle-iron-nice-.jpg
I have a very cheap waffle maker and I sometimes use it only because trying to clean it up after making the waffle takes up a bit of time. =/ Not sure what’s the perfect ratio of pouring batter into the waffle maker.
