Cousin Rachel’s birthday – a big one!!!

The above cake was a flourless one recommended by Kristine from Viktor Benes – gluten-free, just like this tower of sweets from Georgetown Cupcake.

In fact, the entire menu was gluten-free for the birthday girl…

…Thai takeout from Ekkamai…

…from spring rolls to chicken satay and shrimp wrapped in bacon…

…BBQ Beef, Pork, Veggie Sides…

…White/Forbidden Rice + meatless Pad Thai.

I nibbled while helping to set up the buffet…

…also had some chips/hummus/nuts while waiting for guests to arrive.

As the sun set, we dug right in!

I had seconds…

…followed by cake and 40 candles!

Very rich and sweet….

…also sampled all four of the cupcakes – PB, Lava Fudge, Salted Caramel, and Chocolate.

Not too long after, more nibbling happened…Thai food, chips, and dessert…

…left very full, but not too bloated; guess I should eat gluten-free more often!

This all looks so delicious! Oh my!
Ooooh! Scrumptious! I need to try gluten-free goods someday!
That cake looks really good! I think it’s interesting that it made you less bloated (the gf thing) after a big meal. Maybe I’ll try that!
Auguri alla festeggiata. Ciao
What a delicious, fun celebration! Love the shot of the sunlight peeking through behind the plate of pasta!
Hi Lynn, I’ve been reading your blog for about a year now. My mum is Chinese but I live in London- there’s a familiarity thats so strong when I read your blog and it’s particularly comforting!
Thanks for this Gluten Free inspiration. I only found out about my allergy to wheat 2 months ago and it’s been pretty rough!
