I miss Huell Howser.

KCET has been airing some of his best episodes, including the one where he visits The Donut Man for those epic strawberry sweeties…

…that inspired my breakfast this morning…

…and tonight’s dessert!

This was just yellow box mix fancied up using Prosecco instead of water…



…then doused in a can of vanilla frosting.


Okay, I know I’m not fooling anyone into thinking this is a giant donut. It’s a bundt cake with strawberries.


Congratulations to all the Oscar Nominations – especially my fellow Wesleyan alums for Beasts of the Southern Wild! Gotta start brainstorming ideas for the food menu for this year…hmmm…maybe I’ll bake a King Cake – Bundt of the Southern Wild???

And, like you, I’m thrilled for Beasts of the Southern Wild! We lived in Louisiana for an extended period of time, and I actually photographed the premier of the movie in Baton Rouge for a local magazine. It was a lovely time, and it just makes me so happy that the move has been so well-received!
Beast of the Southern Wild is just the best movie — already my winner of the Oscar! And the girl……
