We had plans to meet our friends Andromeda and Joshua at a place I’ve been wanting to try forever, Sycamore Kitchen…

…unfortunately, there was a bit too much of a scene (and no free tables) so we headed across the street to Tinga instead.

Ahhh….

…much more manageable!

Abe and I split two vegetarian dishes – Papas Bravas Tacos, which are “bashed and smashed” potatoes + poblano rajas – plus the Elote Especial – grilled sweet corn with creamy lime, chili + poblano puree.

I also tried some of Andromeda’s Conchinita Pibil, which had pork, and was REALLY spicy!

My three plates:

When we got back I turned the Sparkling Cider mess into something else (<—stay tuned)…

…which put me in a snacky mood! Started with the only piece that didn’t get smooshed…

…followed by a glazed donut…

…and handful of sweet/salty homemade nuts – a gift from my friend Emily!

Caught a 5:15pm show of Les Miserables at The Arclight – the DVD screener is coming in the mail soon, but I felt, as a huge fan growing up, I had to experience it on the big screen…

…really glad I did. We ran into June/Casey/Kulap beforehand and they warned me I would cry. Had no idea I’d be bawling the entire film. Blogged more about it over at Mourning Music.

I love Les Miserables! The film is so well done.
I am motivated to watch my Screener now….
Looking forward to seeing you in a few weeks! It’s been too long. Happy New Year Lynn!
