Melanie and I went to Michelle’s for a little Ladies’ Night – dinner was Hot Pot a.k.a. “Huo Guo!”

Meat options – scallops, sea bass, pork belly, tri tip steak…

…and fish balls!

I grew up eating these on chopsticks – probably where my obsession with lollipops comes from???

Lots and lots of green leafy vegetables – and enoki mushrooms too.

The broth was a fresh chicken with ginger – once it got boiling, we got cookin…

…dipped in 3 types of sauces – Taiwanese BBQ, a soy scallion mixture, and hot chili.

I probably ate about 4 or 5 meat-centric bowls like this…

…and a few veggie focused ones too…

…followed by the broth – flavored by all our hard work.

Dessert was red bean cakes from Japan…

…with sesame ice cream…

…and a few leftover sweets I brought along.

Pretty tea from Michelle’s trip to Shanghai bloomed alongside us in another hot pot…

…love hanging with my girls.
