Bacon n Bakin

dessert - dinner

The mystery casserole took a mysteriously long time…

…almost 1.5 hours – Sam, John, Abe and I polished off this entire plate of pita chips while waiting…

…plus a yummy vegetarian chutney that Michelle’s husband’s sister made – a Thursday night exchange for bacon jam!

Finally – time to cut.

Good thing I put the casserole on a baking sheet – side spillage.

Didn’t hold together great, but it was still tasty.

I used bacon grease in the corn muffins for dessert (The vegetarian ate leftover root beer float cake).

This was just a box mix, with chocolate chips…

…served with bacon jam, of course.

Pretty greasy and heavy, but what do you expect?

I think that’s enough brown, mushy food for one post.

I love waiting for a casserole to come out of the oven…makes me so excited to eat! All of this looks delicious. Thank you for sharing. 2013 is off to a delicious start. I hope you have a relaxing and joyful weekend, my friend!

Are those muffins a bit underdone? They don’t look how corn muffins usually do. They’re lighter and wetter than I’m used to. Is that on purpose? Excuse me for mentioning. I don’t mean to be rude at all!

No worries! They were clean when I put the toothpick in but very heavy from the bacon grease.
