35 was tricky – all the way to the endbdaycake.jpg

…between my father’s death and touring with Edie Sedgwick just a few weeks ago, this was probably my most challenging year . So although turning 36 while traveling wasn’t the ideal way to celebrate my birthday, I felt it was an appropriate way to say hello to a new age of possibilities and potential.

Our flight was delayed…we arrived closer to 8:30pm. I was starving, so we stopped by our old hood in Queens before heading to my mother’s in NJ.

I was heartbroken that my favorite Astoria pizza place didn’t have any marinara pie ready…

Luigi remembered me from more than seven years ago (we used to be serious regulars). He said he just saw me in “Lakeview Terrace” the other day…

…and gave me two little bottles of wine, on the house!

Of course, I needed a slice of birthday cake to end the meal…
