Abe and I attended a party in The Hills last night…

…with a gorgeous spread, catered by Root of All Food.

Lettuce cups filled with veggies…

…caramelized onion tart…

…watermelon balls stuffed with hamachi, chile, lime and tequila…

…salmon poke with avocado and green onion…

…sweet potato croquettes, deep fried with a chile-coconut sauce…

…tofu spring rolls…

…and a few crostini (all vegetarian).

I ate about 2-3 pieces of the above, plus a couple trips to the charcuterie/hummus/olive/nuts + chip platter…

…numerous cheese + cracker bites as well.

(Yes, that’s fig spread!)

Bellies full, we rolled down the hill to Canter’s…

…but not for more food, for music! Abe’s HuffPostLive co-worker Camille was singing with her band, The Rumble, at The Kibitz Room.

After touring in Europe for a month, I definitely have a new appreciation for live performers; kept thinking about their load in/out and sound check!

Oh man, that spread looks awesome! Stuffed watermelon balls??
(BTW – I still think the sweet potato croquettes look like chocolate truffles and they sound equally yummy!)
Oh wow those tofu spring rolls sound so good right now. Such a healthy, colorful but still enticing spread~!
