Before Hollywood shuts down, I have a few meetings…one took place in – where else – a strip mall sushi joint…
…Hirozen is small but cozy. It was the chef’s birthday!
We split a few things – one of the many special salads…
…beets + pickled cauliflower with apple/cuke/microgreens…
…avocado, as well!
We also shared the Albacore Clear Roll…
…tuna, avocado, mango, cucumber, and sushi rice wrapped in rice paper…
…Scallop + Spicy Tuna…
…I wound up eating two pieces of each one.
A little BYO Dessert…
…Vosges Black Salt Caramel…yesssss….
…vacation begins very very soon for everyone I know – hopefully you too!

How’d you like the “clear sushi roll”? I’d think the texture would be too reminiscent of a Vietnamese goi cuon, for better or worse.
