I love staying with my cousins in DC. They’re as obsessed with trying new foods as I am!

Last night we were talking about Southern Foods, and Ambrosia Salad came up. I’ve never had one – usually they’re made with fruit, whipped cream, marshmallows, and coconut. Hannah experimented with Martha Stewart’s recipe, using canned Mandarin Oranges/Pineapple, fresh blueberries, honey, Plain Oikos…

…and Nutmeg grated on top.

Nature Valley Granola Bars crumbled on top for CRUNCH!

There was one essential ingredient missing (coconut) but it was still really good!

After breakfast I headed to Edie Sedgwick rehearsal, where a box with my name on it awaited…

…two companies sent us goodies for the band to enjoy during practice and on tour!

Dug right into the Sour Cherry Licorice…

…and Vanilla Alphabet Cookies.

A perfect practice snack – when we were done, I sampled a Chia Coconut Bar too. Reminded me of Sesame Candy!

So relieved to have some of my favorite snacks to keep us company on the road in Europe – especially my beloved Ginger Hermits…

…thank you to both Newman’s Own Organics and Health Warrior for your generosity!

I really am excited for you and this music tour. It can’t help but be an unparalleled experience. Good for you to jump at the chance. I can’t wait to see the posts you will find a way to do.
I’m obsessed with the Chia bars – we tried samples at the NYC marathon expo. Since I eat Chia seeds basically once a day anyway, it was neat to try them in a bar…that actually tasted really good! Although they said they were fixing the chocolate peanut butter recipe – I was partial to the coconut
Newman’s Own Organics and the Health Warrior bars are both super yummy – I love chia bars, yum! Adding a granola bar to the Ambrosia salad is a great idea. I’ve never liked Ambrosia salad much, but maybe it just just missing the crunch factor? I’ll have to try your version
all props go to my cousin Hannah, the mastermind!
