It’s a good day when money and Italian figs arrive on your doorstep…

…a delivery from Abe’s parents, who just got back from Tuscany. Maybe the Euros will buy me more dried fruit when I’m singing in Germany??? I immediately ate four. They were soft and delicious, with a slight hint of anise.

My luck continued on in the evening – we scored a last-minute invite to the opening of the newest Veggie Grill…

…right next to The Arclight!

Even more spacious than their other locations…

…but all the same stuff…

VIP’s in da house! Chatted with founders Kevin Boylan and T.K. Pillan, who I’m convinced are the coolest vegans on the planet.

I ordered off the menu…

…All Hail Kale salad, with Buffalo Wings on top…

…dressing on the side. You never need it, and that means there’s extra to take home!

Abe got the regular B-Wing Salad and admitted he preferred my concoction…

…we combined our leftovers to form a future super meal.

Had to save room for dessert! They passed out samples of their Chocolate Pudding, Cookie…

…and carrot cake <—-sooooo ridiculously good.

My friend Andrea posted this (it’s her birthday!!!)

Embrace fortune and happiness whenever you can…I’ve learned this year how quickly life can change overnight. Been thinking a lot about everyone on the east coast, and my heart is with y’all. Good luck.

It was so good to talk to you this morning Lynn! Even if it was unplanned.
Let’s make it a point to schedule more phone chats in the future. Take care girl!
Hope all your east coast peeps are doing okay this morning. Sandy was quite the storm.
I am in serious trouble with that Veggie Grill within walking distance! I can’t wait to check it out.
Thank you for sharing that quote. I just spent a week in the Midwest while my mom was having surgery to repair an aneurysm. She is going to be fine, thank God, but it was kind of an epiphany that I need to find ways to enjoy life and stop being so stressed.
thoughts are with you and your mom, brigid. glad she’s going to be okay.
Thank you for the quote, Lynn~ It releases me a lot when I’m facing some tough stuff now.
I adore Veggie Grill! All Hail Kale is my favorite too. And I agree with not need the sauce. It’s delicious as is!
