Che-go-go-go

Last night, before heading to LAX for a red eye, Abe and I swung by a place we’ve been wanting to check out since it opened.

My favorite chef is Roy Choi, and Chego is one of his babies.

Did not disappoint. Small, cozy, cheap, unpretentious…

…DELICIOUS!!!

Our first time trying Roy’s food since he went vegetarian! We split the mushroom egg rolls…

The Smashed Kabocha cup was even better…

The plates are small, but perfect to share – dessert was the largest thing!

Pina Krackalada – coconut sticky rice with candied pineapple, puffy rice crackle, and sesame.

For some reason, in the glow of the barber shop strip mall lights, it was an incredibly romantic dinner.

Nibbled on 1/2 a Cinnamon Raisin with raspberry preserves…

Abe leaves in less than 24 hours! Hoping we don’t crash between then and now…

Yum, Chego looks great! My go-to has always been A Frame but Chego will be my next Roy Choi spot to try. Have a safe trip and an amazing time flying kites and singing your ass off! 🙂
