My mother was saying recently that my father didn’t have much of a sense of humor, but I think he’s finally catching up with the rest of our family…Monday, after his Church Memorial, Abe and I drove to Target to pick up a camera charger, since we searched everywhere and couldn’t find where my Dad kept both of his.

We also picked up some white vinegar so our nephews could finally launch their homemade rocket.

It might be too early for death jokes, but, this was still pretty hilarious.

After that, we tested out the new camera chargers, which were also a failure. Another 20 minute drive right back to Target…

…came home to a sweet neighbor’s delivery from Sugarflake Bakery.

Tibby’s learned to be patient while I take photos for the blog now…

…but he’s also a little camera clown…

…just like his Dad.

I ate dessert first – some of that fish cookie, figs, lemon bread, Carolyn’s cake, and the mystery Indian sweet…

…followed by a snack – smoked Chicken leg + a handful of Whole Grain Goldfish crackers.

Finally, a roasted Japanese yam…

…and then this little sweet potato joined in on the fun!

As we sat around wondering where in the world my father could’ve kept that camera stuff, my mother mentioned that he recharged it almost every night, and was probably in the bedroom.

Turns out, it was in the same room I’d been sleeping in…the entire time.

Good one, daddy.

Never too early for a little sense of humor. That rocket looks like good and only mildly dangerous fun.
So sweet. Seems like he was pretty cheeky! Love the family shots !
Haha! That brought a smile to my face. Sometimes they are right under our nose…. : )
I agree with the other posters…my first response..that IS sweet
Your bravery during this difficult time is very inspiring. I have been thinking about your blog posts a lot as I had the very good fortune of being able to get back home & help my dad celebrate his birthday. The time we have together is so precious! We also watched “Saving Face” for the first time….it was a wonderful movie.
