Peanut Butter Endings

in breakfast, recipe

Hello old friend!

I get really excited whenever I reach the bottom of a nut butter jar. Never waste those last delicious bits!

If the container is made of glass, I’ll pour oatmeal in it. If it’s made of plastic (like this PB Crave one) I make muesli.

Oats in a Jar (a.k.a. OIAJ) are nothing new, but since it’s been a while, I thought I’d give a refresher course.

Basically, fill your precious with rolled oats, yogurt, water/milk…

IMG_8361

…you can do this the night before, but let it sit for at least an hour to thicken (goes much faster if you use quick oats, as opposed to the old-fashioned ones).

Throw in whatever toppings you want – I like fresh fruit.

Greek yogurt works best. If you use plain, you’ll probably want to add some stevia/sugar/honey/maple syrup…

…I used YoKids, so it was already sweet enough.

Can even be assembled the night before, lidded, and carried with you to work, for breakfast on the go!

I don’t have an office, so…

I have so many opened jars I don’t think I’ll see an empty one for years! I really should finish one of them, lol.

This makes me excited that I am one more PB&J sandwich away from an almost empty jar. Thanks for the refresher.

I don’t know what is wrong with me but I’ve never gotten into empty peanut butter jars. SOOO weird because I am a NUT BUTTER FEEN! I can’t figure it out.

What a great idea! I’ve never thought of this but would definitely work for my ‘super busy, running out of the house last minute’ mornings! Thanks for sharing!

Yes! The very last bits of any nut butter jar are truly precious! That’s a brilliant idea, making muesli or oatmeal in it. I’ll have to do that (I actually have a perfect jar of peanut butter in the fridge)… :)

I’ve never thought of doing this before, and you’d better believe the next peanut butter jar I’m done with, I am making up some of this instead of giving the near-empty jar to my dog to lick until her heart’s content. Great idea!
