When I heard that Short Order had a sister….

…and that she was a bakery…

…I knew we had to meet.

My blog buddy Nastassia set us up! She arranged a lunch there yesterday, so we could all sample their meal items, served 11-5pm (FYI the sweet and savory goods are available all day).

Got to finally meet some bloggers who I’ve been following for years! Adrianna, Leah, Kristin, Natalie, Sara, Julie, and Arianna…

…we ate pretty much everything on the menu! (And let me tell you, there is nothing on it I wouldn’t recommend.)
Kicked things off with the Hand Pie of the Day – manchego, piquillo peppers, ham, and green onion

Croissant Sandwiches – egg salad, tuna, and ham + cheese

Open Faced Toasts with béchamel – ham/kale…

….and the veggie options (one comes cheese-less!)

I ate every flaky, buttery, salty, cheesy crumb…

…but just a taste of the three salads…

…had to save room for sweets!

Blueberry muffin

Buttercup Croissant

Apple Pie

Brunette (their take on a Blondie, with pine nuts and thyme)

Cherry Pie with Pecan Oat Crumble

Breakfast Cereal Cookies (Bran Flakes with Dried Wild Blueberries from TJ’s!)

S’mores Scone (I kid you not)

Chocolate Cinnamon Babka

Brioche Donut

Everything you see above, and below got in my belly…

…and probably more could’ve, too, until some to-go boxes appeared and brought me back to reality!
HUGE thanks to Nastassia for organizing, and to Hourie and Short Cake for hosting such an epic brunchinner (<—that meal lasted the whole entire day).
P.S. – Congrats to my fellow “Daylight Savings” cast – found out we won the Special Jury Prize for Ensemble Performance at the Asian Film Festival of Dallas!
