Did you get your Slurpee on yesterday?
I actually tried two of the Lite versions – Pina Colada during a walk with Sheetal…
…and while buying some soda/lollipops later, I downed a free cup of Wild Cherry too.
We made last-minute dessert plans with Ryan, an old Wesleyan buddy who’s in town. I swung by a Russian deli near the 7-11!
Not sure if this place is called Grandma’s Deli, Babushka, or Grandma’s Deli Babushka?
As you can see, it’s pretty unique!
I can confirm the Yelp Reviews – the women behind the counter are not to be messed around with. Not usually intimidated when it comes to food, but they didn’t make asking questions easy…
…so I wound up buying something ready-made.
Two of these Gingerbread were immediately taste-tested in the car…
…very plain, but I liked them!
Plated up prettily for our guests at home…
…I wound up eating two more throughout the course of the evening…
…along with a handful of pistachios…
…and probably this entire bowl of Organic Grapes.
Even the tea was green.
The FroYo wasn’t, but there was mint in it!

LOL, Your Russian deli counter ladies sounds like the Germany deli counter ladies I encounter in fremont in the Bay Area. The hot deli foods (think hot potato salad, spaetzle) and sandwiches are made to order, it takes forever, but I dare not rush them, they are all business! Always delicious so it’s worth the wait.
Pina Colada slurpee!? I really want to try.
Oh, you have lite Pina Colada and Cherry?! The only light one here in NY is the Strawberry Banana. We have Pina Colada and Cherry but they are the full sugar!
