I hate packing. So yesterday, in the midst of pouring cleansers and shampoos into tiny little bottles, I decided to take a baking break.

Hey, you know what would be a good idea for 4th of July? Patriotic Cornbread! What could be more American?


It’ll be a cinch – I’ll just use Trader Joe’s mix…


…and some blueberry chevre


(Completely ignoring the fact that the goat cheese looks purple.)

…does this look ANYTHING REMOTELY CLOSE to patriotic cornbread?


This would actually be perfect for Easter, with all those little treasures…


…consensus is – delicious.

Hey I didn`t remind that today was your Independence Day until I read your post. And I must say that this afternoon in the Obradoiro Square, in front of beautiful Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, there were a group of young people from USA singing the national anthem and now I know why. Fantastic patriotic cake.

Well, it may not necessarily look patriotic, but it sounds delicious! I’m so jealous of your creativity in the kitchen.

That looks incredibly easy and delicious, Lynn! What a great idea. I love cornbread and rarely make it-mostly because I will eat ALL OF IT! Happy 4th of July!
