Weather forecast on the beach yesterday was high 60′s, but it turned out scorching HOT! Mostly because of these ludicrously gorgeous friends I have acquired, living in L.A….

…I see Coriann, Rachelle, Jenny, Leslie, Taryn, Melanie…

…Jen too…

…and TONS OF FOOD!!! Lots of brunch leftovers, plus new snacks the ladies brought with them.

My first two plates may appear similar – but notice those pretty pink morsels in the second one?

Jenny is the dessert expert, so of course she brought something extra special n sweet to share….


…aside from ingesting about half of that box, I also noshed on Strawberry Icebox Cake and Lemon Ricotta Blackberry Muffin…

…a whole bunch of TJ’s herb popcorn…

…and those were JUST the appetizers! We had a special treat – a professional cooking for us!

Leslie was testing out some new recipes; I played sous chef while she whipped up some Aioli (Vegenaise + Avocado)…

…spread that creamy concoction on TJ Mini Buns, with tomato.


Veggie sliders (rice n beans base) with jerk seasoning, fried in Olive Oil…

…divine!


On the side, she glazed up some walnuts in sugar + oil, then added them to a massaged balsamic kale salad…

…I chopped the H20 Melon…

…love being a “guinea pig!”

We all headed outside to digest…

…and were served the final course!

Vegan Pound Cake (made with tofu) topped with strawberry slices and balsamic glaze.

I ate at least four…

…which jogged my appetite again – went back inside for 3 more pieces, plus more chocolate-covered cherries, chips n salsa…

…an additional round of sweets…

…and what the heck – let’s just have another meal!

Being around these ladies always energizes me…

…whenever we come together to support and share one another’s passions, embrace both our flaws and our talents, focus on celebrating life’s pleasures…that’s when true beauty reveals itself. Those Chuckar Cherries are so delish!! I’m from the town (Prosser, Wa) where they are made. Glad you were able to have a tasting of eastern Washington goodies!!

Just one curiosity that you all for sure know about “Allioli”, which is a very popular sauce here in Barcelona (Calonia, Spain; in fact there is a movement trying to nominate it internationaly “the national catalan sauce”): the “original” is done only with garlic and olive oil (all=garlic i=and oli=oil) (and salt!), anything else! But your variation with avocato sounds nice!
