O Happy Hour

June 6, 2012

in food events, restaurant

Things that made me happy yesterday:

Winning an awesome giveaway (and hosting one too)…

…having two auditions (and running into Sammy!!!)

Not so happy-making?

(Stupid, stupid, stupid.)

Well, at least I saved $$$ on my amazing dinner!

Red O recently launched their Happy Hour from 4-6pm Tuesday through Saturdays, and I was invited for a media tasting.

Nothing off the special drink menu for me, but I tried all the eats – and am happy to report they’re all terrific!

Street Food…

…and Tostado Trio:

Three types of Ceviche…

…two of them served with Plantain Chips:

Warm tortillas for a Trio of Tacos…

…Skirt Steak…

…Mazatlan Blue Shrimp…

And that tasty dish you see in the back is one of two Fundidos:

Not much for vegans, obviously, other than the guacamole.

I had some of everything…

…and two whole tacos…

…then gave up on the tortillas and stuck to chips:

Actually had to leave when these oysters came out – didn’t want to get another parking ticket…

…but I still downed one – plus my last couple bites – before bolting!

All in all, a happy day.

Now I’m craving Mexican food…specifically skirt steak tacos with guac :)

Love how you labeled everything on the plates in the pictures!

Thanks for linking back Lynn! Hope the warm LA weather didn’t melt the kitkat and enjoy it.

I *just* finished lunch but looking at all these delicious meals… I can eat all that right now… =D Hope your auditions went well!

I have a hard time patronizing his restaurant considering the comments he made about bringing authentic mexican food to L.A…. His food looks good, but on the same vein as Border Grill..

So jealous! I cannot wait to try Red O. This summer Andy and I are definitely going to try out more L.A. spots and this is high on the list.
