When I first heard about Transmission LA my head nearly exploded. Roy Choi (favorite LA chef) + Mike D (favorite Beastie Boy) + my favorite museum? For free?!? YES PLEASE.

Sadly, we missed out on the food part…

…and the live music…

…but honestly, I’d rather beat the crowds. 3:30pm was a perfect time to go on Saturday!

There was a lot that reminded me of Disney World, actually…

…from the coffee bar with its Splash Mountain-esque moat…

…to this Tron-inspired hallway!

Even though we missed out on Roy Choi’s Pupusas, I still got one afterwards…

…found Mayas Taco Market via the Yelp App, and we pulled over.

Everywhere you look in Los Angeles, you’ll see a Pupuseria. Can’t believe I’ve lived here for almost seven years and this is my first one!

Is there a food that’s more fun to say?!? Pupusa. Pupusa!

Served with curtido (pickled cabbage, onion, and carrots) and two sauces…

…I stuck to the less-spicy tomato version.

Already knew I’d adore this before I took my first bite. How could you not love a thick corn tortilla, stuffed with cheese and little bits of squash?

Pupusa!

Before bed I enjoyed my final Keep it Sweet treat…

(Mangoes were fished outa the freezer too.)

Perfect Saturday.

The MOCA exhibit looks amazing! I can’t wait to move back to LA.
